May 30, 2014 College News - Historic charm meets modern-day elegance in the stunning 2014 WBCS, Inc. Showhouse for a Cure, located at 2022 East Lafayette Place, Milwaukee. The Showhouse is open to the public May 31 – June 15. Times vary. Each room was decorated by one of the area’s top interior designers, providing a look at the latest design trends and offering inspirational home decorating ideas.
Designed by architects Ferry and Clas, who built Milwaukee’s Central Library, this year’s Showhouse was built in 1901. The 6,152 square foot home with sweeping lake views was commissioned for William E. Fitzgerald, the son of a Lake Michigan sea captain, president of the Milwaukee Dry Dock Company and the Assistant Manager of the American Shipbuilding Co.

To date, WBCS has contributed more than $5.1 million for breast cancer and prostate cancer research at the MCW Cancer Center and to support the WBCS Breast Cancer Research Professorship endowment.
