First Carrie Falk Memorial Lecture planned for May 8
May 06, 2014 College News - The first Carrie Falk Memorial lecture will be held Thursday, May 8, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Clinical Cancer Center room M. The invited speaker is Mark Rosenberg, DO, who will give a presentation titled, Making a case: Emergency Department Palliative Care – Is it Possible?
Dr. Rosenberg is Chair of Emergency Medicine at St. Joseph's Healthcare System in Paterson, N.J. and lectures on palliative care both nationally and internationally.
A native of Wisconsin, Dr. Carrie Falk joined the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals in 2011 as a resident in the Department of Emergency Medicine. She completed her undergraduate studies at Azusa Pacific University as well as a master’s degree and medical degree at Midwestern University, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Falk passed away on July 14, 2013 at the age of 31 from metastatic melanoma. While our hearts are heavy with grief over Dr. Falk’s passing, her spirit and compassion will continue to inspire us long into the future.
