Froedtert & the Medical College celebrated nationally
Nov. 04, 2013 College News - Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin won two national honors recently – a testament to the diligent work of the staff and physicians across the organization.
Froedtert Hospital ranked No. 11 in quality among the top U.S. academic medical centers across the nation by the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC). This ranking improved from No. 12 last year and No. 23 in 2011. This is our rank relative to over 100 academic medical centers. Our overall score was 70.9. Group median was 65.4 and top performer was 78.7.
"This top ranking moves us one step closer to achieving our vision of being ranked in the top 10 percent nationally," said Cathy Buck, President of Froedtert Hospital.
Additionally, Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin have earned the National Research Corporation’s Consumer Choice Award for the ninth consecutive year. This award identifies hospitals that consumers have chosen as having the highest quality and image in more than 300 markets throughout the United States.
To determine the top hospitals, NRC conducts an annual survey of more than 270,000 consumers throughout the United States. Organizations selected for the Consumer Choice Award are chosen by people who live in the communities the hospitals serve.
Winning hospitals are those with the highest scores in four categories including best overall quality, best overall image and reputation, best doctors, and best nurses.

"We are grateful for the confidence that our patients and community place in the care we provide. As the region’s only academic medical center, setting the standard for quality care is part of our mission."
The NRC awards were announced in the Oct. 21 edition of Modern Healthcare magazine. National Research Corporation specializes in healthcare performance measurement and improvement.
