General Internal Medicine faculty win honors

Oct. 15, 2013 College News - Two faculty members from the Department of Medicine’s Division of General Internal Medicine were recently honored by state and regional organizations.

Vipul Rana, MD

 

Vipul Rana, MD, Assistant Professor of Medicine (General Internal Medicine), received the Young Internist of the Year Award from the Wisconsin chapter of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Rana was recognized for service to the division, MCW students and residents, and the ACP, as well as clinical excellence.  He is the Medical Director for the Froedtert Hospitalist Program.

Ankur Segon, MD

 

Ankur Segon, MD, Assistant Professor of Medicine (General Internal Medicine), received the Midwest Society of General Internal Medicine Clinician-Educator Award. Dr. Segon was recognized for his implementation of several curriculum innovations, particularly in the division’s M4 sub-internship, which he directs.  Examples include how students choose their core session topics each month, and a core case-based report. Dr. Segon also teaches in a number of areas
