Inaugural E. James Aiman, MD Endowed Lectureship to be held April 30
April 24, 2014 College News - The inaugural E. James Aiman, MD Endowed Lectureship is planned for Wednesday, April 30, in the MCW Health Research Center Auditorium. Helain Landy, MD, Chairman and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Georgetown University, will give a presentation titled, Twin Pregnancies: An Update.
The event, which runs from 9-10 a.m., will honor Dr. Aiman, a 29-year faculty member who died in 2011. Dr. Aiman twice served as Acting Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and was dedicated to sustaining excellence in medical education through innovative teaching and patient care.
Dr. Landy has won numerous awards, including Academic Teacher of the Year at Georgetown four times. She has mentored, officially and unofficially, countless residents and fellows through clinical and research activities. Her clinical areas of expertise include multiple gestations, pregnancy loss, and medical complications of pregnancy, obstetric sonography, and cervical insufficiency.
