June 27, 2012 College News - The 14th annual Tee Up for a Cure golf event is scheduled for Monday, July 23, at the Blue Mound Golf and Country Club in Wauwatosa. This year’s presenting sponsors are the Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s Kathy Duffey Fogarty Fund and JoAnn and Dick Duffey. The Duffeys lost their daughter Kathy fifteen years ago to breast cancer. Come out, enjoy a beautiful day of golf and an evening reception and help beat this devastating disease. All proceeds from the event will support early-stage breast cancer research at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). Golfers and hole sponsors are still being recruited.
The event includes registration at 10 a.m. (putting green and practice range open), lunch at 11 a.m., a shotgun start of 18 holes of golf at 12:30 p.m. and an evening reception that begins at 5:30 p.m. The reception includes cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, an awards ceremony plus a silent auction and raffle.
Since 1998, WBCS, Inc. has raised more than $4.4 million for breast cancer and prostate cancer research at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
If you would like additional information, or would like to register for the event, please contact Rebecca Banks, Director of Development for the MCW Cancer Center, rbanks@mcw.edu or (414) 955-4719.
