Library Resource of the Month - Colloquium Digital Library of Life Sciences

Oct. 20, 2011 College News - MCW Libraries has recently added Collection One of the Colloquium Digital Library of Life Sciences. This collection from Morgan & Claypool Publishers consists of more than 50 lectures in five series: Integrated Systems Physiology, Developmental Biology, Cell Biology of Medicine, the Developing Brain, and Biotechnology.

Each lecture, 50-100 pages long and written by a prominent contributor to the field, synthesizes an important research topic in the life sciences. The collection provides focused coverage of fast-moving areas and is designed to fill the gap between textbooks and graduate-level monographs and journals.

Students, scientists, and clinicians in the biomedical sciences will find the collection helpful for coursework, research, and board preparation.

A sampling of titles includes Angiogenesis; Enteric Nervous System: The Brain-in-the-Gut; Cardiac Responses to Exercise; How the Heart Develops; Regulation of Tissue Oxygenation; and Skeletal Muscle & Muscular Dystrophy: A Visual Approach.
