Jan. 30, 2013 College News - On Jan. 26, John A. Weigelt, MD, Milton & Lidy Lunda/Charles Aprahamian Professor of Trauma, Professor of Surgery, and Chief of Trauma and Critical Care Surgery, participated in a National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin (NKFW) ballroom dance competition. The Medical College of Wisconsin won the Kidney Foundation’s Spotlight on Life award for receiving the most votes during the event.
The annual dance event is held to pay tribute to the second chances that are made possible through the miracle of transplantation and the gift of organ donation and promote awareness of Wisconsin’s new online donor registry (www.YesIWillWisconsin.com).
Dr. Weigelt is also the Associate Dean for Clinical Quality, and Medical Director of the Joint Quality Office.
