MCW wins awards at International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine meeting
May 28, 2013 College News - Two members of Dr. Kathleen Schmainda’s lab recently received awards at the annual meeting of the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine.
Alexander Cohen, a Biophysics student in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, was honored with a Summa Cum Laude Merit Award for his work entitled, The relationship between short and long diffusion time ADC values in rat brain tumors. Former MCW postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Ben Ellingson, was recognized for having one of the five most-cited papers published in the Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging in 2010. The paper, entitled, Validation of functional diffusion maps (fDMs) as a biomarker for human glioma cellularity, was co-authored by Mark G. Malkin, MD, Professor of Neurology; Scott D. Rand, MD, PhD, Professor of Radiology; Jennifer M. Connelly, MD, Assistant Professor of Neurology; and Kathleen M. Schmainda, PhD, Professor of Radiology.
