Mayfair Road/Highway 100 construction work
Feb. 22, 2013 College News - Beginning Monday, Feb. 25, and continuing through Mid-December, construction work will be conducted on Mayfair Road/Hwy 100. The Mayfair Road/Hwy 100 project is part of the larger Zoo Interchange Reconstruction project.
Highlights of the Mayfair Road/Hwy 100 project include the reconstruction of both northbound and southbound lanes on Hwy 100 from U.S. I-94 to just north of Watertown Plank Road, which will widen the road to four lanes in each direction. Other features include intersection enhancement – with a new traffic signal at Hwy 100 and Wisconsin Avenue, additional accommodations for pedestrians and bicycles, and new street light technology that adapts to changing traffic demands.
This project will be accomplished in several stages. Although road restrictions will occur throughout the duration of the project, two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction with the exception of scheduled intersection closures which will not occur until summer 2013.
Stage 1A (Late Feb. – Mid March)
Right turn lanes from northbound Hwy 100 onto eastbound Bluemound Road, and from eastbound Bluemound Road onto southbound Hwy 100, will be restricted.
The right lane will be closed on northbound Hwy 100 and southbound Hwy 100
