Sept. 27, 2012 College News - The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Neuroscience Center Advisory Board has added seven new community and business leaders to its membership. The goal of the board is to support basic and clinical research that will enhance understanding of brain function and improve the ability to treat neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders, and brain and spinal cord injury.
T. Michael Bolger, JD, President Emeritus of the Medical College, and James M. Holcomb, Breitenbach Institutional Advisory, are Co-Chairs of the board, which supports fundraising programs and builds community awareness of MCW’s work in the neurosciences.

The Neuroscience Research Center was founded in 2010 with the goal of enhancing neuroscience research at MCW Medical College. From clinicians to basic scientists, leading specialists are studying prevention and treatment of more than thirty neurological conditions including Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s and other movement disorders, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), traumatic brain injury, memory loss and addiction.
MCW is also recognized as one of the world’s preeminent centers for brain imaging and brain research.
