Metabolism research workshop planned for April 11

March 19, 2013 College News - The Bioenergetics Shared Resource is hosting a workshop on metabolism research on Thursday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  This event is hosted by the MCW Cancer Center, and is open to researchers from MCW and other institutions.

The workshop will be held at the Medical College of Wisconsin MACC Fund Research Center (MFRC), Room 2063. 

This workshop will feature talks by representatives from both Seahorse Bioscience and Shimadzu, a poster session featuring projects that were supported by the Bioenergetics Shared Resource, and an open house with the resource director and staff.

Attendees will learn:

  • About the availability of integrated bioenergetics and metabolomics resources available on campus.
     
  • Introductory information about the Seahorse XF96 Extracellular Flux Analyzer and the Shimadzu 8030 LC-MS/MS system.
     
  • Why bioenergetics and metabolomics are crucial to cancer research.
     
  • How to get started working with the Shared Resource Staff.
