Prescription Drug Take-Back Day offers chance to safely dispose of unwanted or unused pills

April 23, 2014 College News - Saturday, April 26, is National Drug Take-Back Day, which is a great opportunity to anonymously turn in unwanted or unused pills for safe disposal. The event is coordinated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and offers drop-off sites throughout southeastern Wisconsin.

Protect our kids, families and environment by properly disposing of your unwanted and expired medicines. Medicines in the home are a leading cause of accidental poisoning and flushed or trashed medicines can end up polluting our waters. Rates of prescription drug abuse are alarmingly high - over half of teens abusing medicines get them from a family member or friend, including the home medicine cabinet, and often without their knowledge.

Drop-off sites will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Find a drop-off location near you.
