Save the Date: CTSI workshop on women's health issues planned for Dec. 17
Oct. 15, 2013 College News - The Clinical and Translation Science Institute of Southeast Wisconsin (CTSI) is sponsoring a workshop on women’s health issues on Tuesday, Dec. 17. The event will run from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. and be held at Marquette University’s Alumni Memorial Union Ballroom.
The goal of the workshop is to facilitate interdisciplinary research collaborations across CTSI partner institutions for research related to women’s health. Consistent with recommendations in a recent Institute of Medicine report (Clinical Preventive Services for Women: Closing the Gaps, 2011), the general theme of the workshop will be “preventive science” across the lifespan of women.
Dr. Magda Peck, Dean of the UW-Milwaukee School of Public Health and member of the IOM committee that wrote the report, will provide an introductory state-of-art overview of this theme.
