Shannon Dreier named Administrator of Plastic Surgery
March 25, 2013 College News - Shannon S. Dreier, MBA, has been named Administrator of the Department of Plastic Surgery by Robert J. Havlik, MD, Chairman and George J. Korkos, M.D. Professor in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and Allen Bolton, Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Operating Officer. Dreier currently serves as administrator for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and will continue in that role. She is the institution’s third administrator who is serving two departments.
Dreier has extensive experience in health care administration. Prior to coming to MCW in 2009, she was Assistant Administrator for the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which had more than 100 physicians. Her responsibilities included department clinical financial function, supervising department coding, support staff and financial personnel, and preparing monthly financial reports.
Prior to that, she served as Assistant Administrator for the University of Wisconsin Department of Ophthalmology for four years. In this role, she prepared the department’s budget and oversaw the credentialing, privileging, physician compensation and accounts payable processes.
“Shannon Dreier has a distinguished track record of accomplishment, and her knowledge and expertise will benefit the Department of Plastic Surgery, just as it has benefitted the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology,” said Bolton and Dr. Havlik.
Dreier held other positions at UW, including Physician Compensation and Production Analyst and Health Information Clerk for the UW Medical Foundation.
Dreier received her MBA in finance from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and her BA in accounting from Lakeland College in Sheboygan. She received her BS in dietetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
