The Spring Festival of Cultures starts today
March 27, 2013 College News - Celebrate culture, community, and diversity at the 2013 Spring Festival of Cultures! This third annual festival is organized by the Student Spring Cultural Planning Committee, the Office of Diversity, the Diversity Advisory Committee, and the Institute for Health and Society Global Health Program.
The festival kicks off today with a “cultural market” in the College’s cafeteria lobby. Students, faculty, and staff decorate tables and feature food and information from a specific culture. Davians will be providing diverse food offerings in the MCW cafeteria.
The event continues on Thursday March 28, in the College’s Health Research Center Auditorium with a “quiz bowl.” Teams of 1-5 people will compete simultaneously to answer global themed questions in the categories of: Geography, Sports, Science, Entertainment, Politics, Culture, History, and Food. There are prizes for the winning team members.
The event wraps up on Friday, March 29, with a “fashion show and cultural attire day” in the College’s Alumni Center. The show features students, staff, and faculty in cultural attire along with music.
All three events are free and open to the public and the MCW community and take place from 12 – 1 p.m. For more information, contact Alicia Moore, 955-8626 or at email@example.com.
