Translational Research Unit opening soon

Oct. 16, 2013 College News - The Nicholas Family Foundation Translational Research Unit (TRU), a space devoted to early-phase investigator initiated cancer research trials, will have five dedicated research beds with the ability to expand to 15. The new unit is located in the Froedtert & the Medical College Clinical Cancer Center.

Froedtert & the Medical College currently participate in nearly 400 clinical trials, more than any other health care system in eastern Wisconsin.

James Thomas, MD, PhD, the Cancer Center’s Associate Director for Translational Research, is the Medical Director of the new unit, one of only a few in the nation with the capability to conduct early phase cancer clinical trials in dedicated space with experienced research staff.
