Two General Internal Medicine faculty receive awards
April 02, 2014 College News - Drs. Jeffrey Jackson and James Sebastian, both Professors of Medicine (General Internal Medicine), were recently honored by national organizations.
Jeffrey Jackson, MD, received the Society of General Internal Medicine 2014 Career Achievement in Medical Education Award. This award recognizes medical educators whose lifetime contributions have profoundly impacted the field of medical education. Dr. Jackson is an outstanding educator, significantly contributing to the field of medical education by way of his multiple local and national publications on education, his direction of fellowship programs, and his mentorship of productive academic clinician-educators.
James Sebastian, MD, will receive the distinction of Master of the American College of Physicians (ACP) at the ACP 2014 annual meeting. Recipients of this award are recognized for their excellent contributions to medicine in a variety of areas, including ACP activities. Dr. Sebastian has been an ACP member since 1984, and a fellow since 1992. He has received multiple recognitions for being an exemplary educator, is greatly respected by his peers and students, and has made extraordinary contributions to the Medical College of Wisconsin.
