    Vascular Access Symposium planned for April 3

    March 07, 2013 College News - The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Department of Surgery is hosting the 3rd annual Vascular Access Symposium on Wednesday, April 3, in Conference Room M of the Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Clinical Cancer Center. The event targets medical professionals who work with end-stage renal disease patients to improve aspects of care related to patients’ dialysis access. 

    Upon completion of the course, participants should have improved awareness and understanding of the latest surgical techniques that can be applied to improve the rate of fistula construction in patients historically considered difficult, the latest interventional techniques and their correct application in the maintenance of dialysis access, and the role of the dialysis access nurse in fistula maintenance and improving cannulation techniques.
