WBCS Walk/Run on June 7 to benefit MCW breast cancer and prostate cancer research
May 22, 2014 College News - Hope Springs Eternal: WBCS Racing for Research at MCW is a 5K run and 2K walk scheduled for Saturday, June 7, in Milwaukee’s beautiful Lake Park. All proceeds from the event, now in its third year, go to WBCS, Inc., which supports breast cancer and prostate cancer research at the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center.
Registration for individuals ages 14 and older includes admission to the 2014 Showhouse for a Cure, located at 2022 East Lafayette Place. New this year, the 5K run will be chip-timed. The race and walk both begin at 9 a.m. A party with food, beverages and music will follow the event.
A Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin team is being organized by Tracy Simon. Anyone is welcome to join. Simply indicate that you are joining the “Froedtert & the Medical College” team when registering at www.wbcsrace.com. Registration is $37 per person, ages 14 and older, and $20 for youths. Registration increases $5 the day of the event.
Since 1998, WBCS Inc. has raised more than $5.1 million for breast cancer and prostate cancer research and a breast cancer professorship at the MCW Cancer Center.
