WBCS seeking volunteers for Showhouse
May 21, 2013 College News - WBCS, Inc. is inviting individuals—men, women and young people—to contribute their time, talent, and financial gifts to help support its mission to advance early-stage breast cancer and prostate cancer research. An all-volunteer organization, WBCS has donated more than $4.75 million to breast cancer and prostate cancer research at the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center and to support its endowed professorship of breast cancer research.
The organization currently is seeking docents for the 2013 WBCS Showhouse for a Cure, located at 2228 E. Newberry Boulevard in Milwaukee. The Showhouse will be open to the public June 1 – 16, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Docents, stationed throughout the home, are trained on the details of the house so they can share this information with guests. Docents can serve individually, or, space permitting, groups can work together on a shift.
