Cocaine Use Doesn’t Raise Inpatient Heart Attack Mortality Rate

Navdeep Gupta, MD, assistant professor of internal medicine, studied the connection between myocardial infarction deaths in hospitals and cocaine use, and found that use of the drug did not impact mortality rates. The findings are published in the March 1 issue of The American Journal of Cardiology.

Drs. Volkman and Grayson Receive NIH Grant to Identify New Therapeutic Targets for COPD

Sept. 15 - Brian Volkman, PhD and Dr. Mitchell Grayson are co-primary investigators of a one-year, $382,500 grant from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases to identify new therapeutic targets for chronic obstructive lung diseases such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
