College Staff Teach Fourth Grade Students How to Create Patentable Inventions

Fourth grade students at St. Matthias Parish School in Milwaukee will learn how to turn creative ideas into patentable inventions through a partnership with MCW’s Biotechnology and Bioengineering Center (BBC). Tim Sobotka, the BBC’s Education and Outreach Coordinator, developed the program. Sobotka is a former St. Matthias student and teacher. Staff from MCW’s Office of Technology Development will judge the students’ projects.

Journal Sentinel Article on Gross Anatomy Course Receives National Recognition

July 22 - Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter Mark Johnson won the third-place award in the Best American Newspaper Narrative Contest for “The Course of Their Lives,” a story that followed a group of MCW first-year students through their gross anatomy course.
