Deadly Delays: Newborn screening testing delay puts newborn’s life at risk

Dr. David Dimmock, associate professor of pediatrics (genetics), discusses the case of a baby boy who was treated at Children’s Hospital for a rare metabolic disease. The series in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel discusses statewide hospital delays in processing newborn blood samples to identify genetic disorders.

Drs. Volkman and Grayson Receive NIH Grant to Identify New Therapeutic Targets for COPD

Sept. 15 - Brian Volkman, PhD and Dr. Mitchell Grayson are co-primary investigators of a one-year, $382,500 grant from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases to identify new therapeutic targets for chronic obstructive lung diseases such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
