Dr. Brasel Discusses Automobile Crash-Related Aortic Tears as a Cause of Death

Dr. Karen Brasel (Surgery – Trauma and Critical Care) told the Philadelphia Inquirer that aortic tears are a common cause of death in automobile crashes.  Estimates are that between 5,000 to 10,000 people die annually in the U.S. from a ruptured aorta caused by an automobile crash.
