Dr. Ledeboer Endorses Need for Updated HIV Algorithm

Nathan Ledeboer, PhD, (Pathology) endorsed the development of an updated algorithm for HIV testing. The current algorithm was developed in 1989. Dr. Ledeboer discussed the importance of discriminating between HIV-1 and HIV-2; drugs used to treat HIV-1 are not effective against HIV-2.
