Drs. Dranka and Kalyanaraman Discover Molecule that Could Benefit Parkinson’s Patients

Science Daily reports that Brian Dranka, PhD, (Biophysics Postdoctoral Fellow) and Balaraman Kalyanaraman, PhD, (Biophysics) discovered that diapocynin, a synthetic molecule derived from a naturally occurring compound (apocynin) may protect neurobehavioral function in mice with Parkinson’s disease symptoms by preventing deficits in motor coordination.
