Human Placenta Project Explores Potential Use of Dr. Schmainda’s Imaging Research

The Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health & Human Development invited Kathleen Schmainda, PhD, (Radiology; Biophysics) to present at the opening meeting of the Human Placenta Project.  The organizers believe that Dr. Schmainda’s research using MRI’s to study tumors could be adapted to help visualize and assess maternal and fetal vasculature in placenta.
