Whole Genome Growing Pains

The Scientist reports on a new study in the Journal of the American Medical Association in which researchers at Stanford report difficulties in using whole genome sequencing as a tool to detect disease risk in healthy adults. David Dimmock, MD, associate professor of pediatrics (genetics) and a clinical geneticist at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, commented on the study.
