Doug Campbell called back into service

This memo is from John R. Raymond, Sr., MD, President and CEO

Dear Colleagues,

In this time of leadership transition it is important that we have the resources needed to be both nimble and strategic while maintaining continuity for the good work that is occurring at the Medical College. One of our greatest resources is the institutional knowledge and perspective offered by Douglas Campbell. This past weekend, I requested that Doug be called back into service to assist with this transition and to help us chart a strategic course for the future.

I am pleased to announce that Doug has agreed to serve as the College’s Chief Strategic Officer during this interim period. This role will be effective immediately so that Doug can maintain pace with the clinical practice and pediatric enterprise strategic work that is underway. Doug will also serve as a thinking partner as we evaluate College initiatives and refine a long-range strategy.

Dan Wickeham will remain Interim Chief Operating Officer and Margie Spencer will remain Chief Financial Officer, and will continue to co-chair the Institutional Budget Committee. As you know, the search for a new Senior Vice President has commenced and we hope to have an individual onboard by July 1, 2011.

Thank you for your continued support and input. Please join me in welcoming Doug back to the College in this new role.

John R. Raymond, Sr., MD
President and CEO
