Dr. Rhee has extensive training and experience in facial cosmetic surgery and performs procedures such as rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, browlifts, and facelifts. As part of his practice, Dr. Rhee feels communication between he and the patient is essential when discussing cosmetic surgery. In the patient's initial consultation, Dr. Rhee will ask you what you would like to change and will discuss a range of possibilities. He will explain any limiting factors that may influence the procedure and its outcome. Dr. Rhee will review techniques, anesthesia, and risks involved with surgery.
Dr. Rhee encourages patients to ask questions and share concerns, especially those regarding expectations about the desired results.
AFTER SURGERY: In the days following surgery, when your face is bruised and swollen, it's easy to forget that you will be looking better. In fact, many patients feel disappointment for a while after plastic-surgery – it's quite normal and understandable. Be assured that this stage will pass. Day by day you will look better and your spirits will improve. Within a week or two, you will no longer look as if you've just had surgery. The healing process is a slow and gradual. Some subtle swelling may be present for weeks to months. In the meantime, you may experience some unexpected reactions from family and friends. They may say they don't see a major difference, or they may act resentful, especially if you've changed something they view as a family or ethnic trait. If that happens, try to keep in mind why you decided to have this surgery. If you've met your goals, then your surgery is a success.
