Todd A. Loehrl, MD and ChiefThe subspecialty of rhinology focuses on diseases involving the nose and sinuses including the medical and surgical management of these disorders. This involves a broad range of diseases from nasal obstruction and sinusitis to complicated tumors of the nose, sinuses, and anterior skull base. 

Our specialists have received training in Otolaryngology (ear, nose, and throat) and have received additional advanced training to specifically care for problems in the nose and sinuses. Their practices focus on problems with the nose and sinuses.

Very commonly, patients have already received some treatment but their nose and sinus problem has not resolved or has returned. Our rhinogologists specialize in managing these difficult problems.

They have also authored many publications and book chapters related to the expert, state of the art care for nasal and sinus problems (Click here for bibliography), and have been invited to speak nationally and internationally.

The specialists in our Division of Rhinology are referred some of the most challenging and complex cases in the midwest region. They also provide expert care for more ordinary nasal and sinus complaints. Some of the more common diagnoses treated by the Division of Rhinology include:

    Treatments

    Treatment options include the latest medical therapy, and when necessary, surgery. Minimally invasive endoscopic surgical techniques are utilized whenever possible to minimize patient discomfort and loss of work days. This includes computer image guided sinus surgeryallowing for safe and effective surgery.
