Background/Significance of Program
Mission Statement
The Froedtert Sleep Program has developed a
clinical sleep laboratory
, which provides a source of clinical care and ongoing research.
It is a core of a
training program
for the Medical College of Wisconsin physicians and surgeons. Fellows and residents are trained in the Departments of Pulmonary Medicine, Neurology, and Otolaryngology and Communication Sciences. Primary care physicians as well as undergraduates in medical education are exposed to sleep disorders through this program.
A core group of
physicians-experts
in sleep medicine are available including those in pulmonary medicine, neurology, and otolaryngology. In addition, physicians are available in oral and maxillofacial surgery, psychiatry, psychology, cardiovascular medicine, rehabilitation medicine, anesthesiology, and gastrointestinal medicine.
The Froedtert Sleep Program is dedicated to
public education and public awareness
of sleep and sleep disorders.
The Froedtert Sleep Program continues to provide an
educational resource for regional and national physicians.
