Chief Resident Dr. Kelly Collins matches for abdominal organ transplant fellowship at Washington University
Chief Resident Dr. Kelly Collins participated in the Abdominal Organ Transplant Fellowship match, consisting of 70 programs and 84 positions nationally. One hundred and sixteen residents applied for this highly competitive match with only 61 applicants matching. Dr. Collins will pursue her two-year transplant fellowship training at the prestigious Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, where only one fellow is accepted each year. Dr. Collins graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison with a degree in bioethics before completing her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. While completing her general surgery residency at MCW, she has garnered several awards including the best junior resident award as well as the MCW clinical teaching award. Dr. Collins looks forward to pursuing a career in liver and kidney transplant where she can actively participate in medical education as well as patient centered quality initiatives with the goal of improving patient outcomes.
