The Department of Surgery and Division of Colorectal Surgery Welcomes Back Timothy J. Ridolfi, MD
On behalf of Kirk Ludwig, MD and the Division of Colorectal Surgery, we are pleased to welcome Timothy J. Ridolfi, MD back to the Medical College of Wisconsin and the Department of Surgery faculty.
Dr. Ridolfi received his medical degree from MCW in 2005, and graduated from the MCW General Surgery Residency Program in 2012. He recently completed his fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. During his General Surgery Residency at MCW, Dr. Ridolfi spent two years in the Colorectal Surgery basic science laboratory under the direction of Drs. Ludwig and Takahashi, where his investigations focused on understanding how the pelvic autonomic nerves affect the motility of the left colon and rectum. He published many original manuscripts and won a number of local, regional and national awards for his work. He was also recognized as an outstanding teacher by the MCW medical students and served as Administrative Chief Resident during his final year of training.
Dr. Ridolfi will resume his laboratory program and will have a clinical practice concentrated on colon and rectal surgery at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Froedtert Hospital Campus and the Zablocki VA Medical Center. His clinical focus will have a special emphasis on colorectal cancer and the surgical treatment of ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.
Tim is joined by his wife Kim (Dr. Kimberly Ridolfi), and their two children, Olivia and William. We are thrilled to welcome Tim, Kim, and their family “home” to Wisconsin and to the Department of Surgery faculty.
