The Department of Surgery and Division of Transplant Surgery Welcome
Abbey Kruper, PsyD, Stephanie Zanowski, PhD and Jim Hyland
On behalf of Dr. Douglas Evans and the Division of Transplant Surgery, it is with great joy that we report the recruitment of Abbey Kruper, PsyD and Stephanie Zanowski, PhD to the faculty of the Division of Transplant Surgery, Department of Surgery. We also welcome Jim Hyland as our new Division Administrator.
Dr. Abbey Kruper has joined as Assistant Professor of Surgery and Director of Transplantation Mental Health Services for both adult and children in our Solid Organ Transplantation Joint Program. Abbey received a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology and a Doctorate of Psychology from The Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University/Schaumburg with a specialization in Health Psychology. She completed her Post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Health Psychology at Loyola University Medical Center. Prior to coming to the Medical College of Wisconsin, Abbey was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Neurosciences at Loyola University Medical Center where she was involved in the care of liver, kidney, lung and heart/LVAD transplant candidates. She is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Wisconsin.
Dr. Zanowski has joined as Assistant Professor of Surgery and will provide services in our Solid Organ Transplantation Joint Program. Stephanie received a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Cardinal Stritch University and a Doctor of Philosophy from Marquette University. She completed her Post-doctoral Fellowship in Clinical Psychology at the Medical College of Wisconsin and served as an instructor with MCW’s Department of Plastic Surgery. Stephanie is a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Wisconsin.
Jim Hyland has joined as the new Administrator for the Division of Transplant Surgery. Jim comes to the Medical College of Wisconsin from Houston where he was the Administrator of the Division of Abdominal Transplantation and HLA Laboratory in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. Prior to that, Jim was the Administrator of the Division of Immunology and Organ Transplantation at the University of Texas Medical School / Memorial Hermann Hospital.
