HPB FELLOWSHIP APPROVED FOR FELLOWSHIP COUNCIL MATCH
The Department of Surgery Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Fellowship of the Medical College of Wisconsin was officially awarded membership in the Fellowship Council and will be participating in the match for candidates beginning July 2011. The HPB fellowship consists of a one year advanced clinical and research training program in the field of liver, pancreas and biliary surgery (HPB surgery). The fellowship is offered to graduates of ACGME accredited general surgery residencies and includes training in all aspects of HPB surgery including operative and perioperative management of patients with HPB diseases, liver and pancreas transplantation, organ procurement, and clinical HPB research. The training will occur under the auspices of the Medical College of Wisconsin at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Program Director is Dr. Kathleen Christians, Associate Professor, Department of Surgery. The 2011 fellowship application cycle was opened to new applicants on May 7, 2010.
