Beth Krzywda Receives Excellence AwardBeth Krzywda NP

Beth Krzywda, NP, has been named the recipient of the 2011 Excellence in Advanced Practice Nurse Award.  Beth was recognized by her colleagues for her outstanding contributions to patient care in the area of surgery.  She will be presented with this award on May 5, 2011, during the PA/APN Annual Meeting and Recognition Event.

Helen Kuzma and Beth Krzywda receive 2011 PA and APN Practice Excellence Awards

May 12, 2011 College News - Helen Kuzma, Physician Assistant (PA) in Dermatology, and Beth Krzywda, Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in General Surgery, received the Medical College Physicians 2011 PA and APN Practice Excellence Awards. The awards were presented at the second annual Physician Assistant and Advanced Practice Nurse Meeting and Recognition event, held May 5 at Froedtert Hospital.

There are approximately 185 PAs and APNs who are part of Medical College Physicians (MCP) and work at Froedtert Hospital and at clinics in the surrounding area.

From this group, 11 PAs and 13 APNs were nominated for the 2011 PA and APN Practice Excellence Awards. This annual award is given to one physician assistant and one advanced practice nurse involved in direct patient care and employed by the Medical College of Wisconsin/Medical College Physicians or Froedtert Hospital who is identified by peers and colleagues for their contributions to excellence in patient centered practice.

More than 60 PAs and APNs attended the annual meeting, which included a visit from John R. Raymond, Sr., MD, President and CEO; welcoming remarks from Julie Raaum APN, Director of MCP PA/APNs; comments from Jon Pryor, MD, MBA, MS, MCP CEO and Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs-MCP; and presentations on the role of PA and APN practitioners in an academic setting.
