TRAUMA FELLOWSHIP
Our academic program is hinged to trauma and critical care. We have a trauma fellowship that accepts one surgical trainee every year. This clinical fellowship is one year and accepts individuals after they have completed their general surgical training. These individuals are accepted as instructors within the MCW Department of Surgery. Our goal is to allow our trauma fellow to function as junior faculty while learning how to organize and run a trauma program within a hospital. These individuals help staff the trauma service at FMLH for the entire year. They are always teamed with a full-time faculty during these assignments. Opportunities exist for this individual to accomplish a clinical research project during the one-year fellowship.
