2009 Homicide Review Commission Report

The Milwaukee Homicide Review Commission (HRC) is comprised of law enforcement and community service providers who meet regularly to exchange information on the city's homicides and identify methods of prevention from both public health and criminal justice perspectives.  This 2009 data report covers homicides and shootings in all 7 police districts.  link to report reflects the first 6 months of 2009.

2009 Milwaukee Brighter Futures Youth Survey Report

The Milwaukee Brighter Futures 2009 Youth Survey report tells of findings about Milwaukee youth as regards safety and violence, tobacco, alcohol and marijuana use, sexual behavior, healthy behaviors, values, and attitudes.  The report is based upon the survey of 335 youth and pays special attention to gender differences, violence, and high risk sexual behavior.

2006

Connections: Rethinking Strategies to Connect Delinquent Girls to Success-Milwaukee County (2006)

This study is one of dozens recently conducted in the U.S. as more and more local and state governments recognize the inadequacies of current juvenile justice system responses to girls.  Milwaukee's study, however, is presented within a context of two very positive trends.  The first is the steady decline in youth referrals to Children's Court and the second is the climate of innovation and change at the Court that will facilitate the changes necessary to achieve better outcomes for girls.
