Research Area

Medical Education

Understanding the dynamics of human development is a challenge for many medical students, especially with the time constraints placed on this subject in the medical curriculum. Work continues on creating animations for teaching human prenatal development. Some of these will be combined with clinical scenarios to create webcasts for self-study and pre-class preparation. Timelines for the development of each body system are being created. I have been working with several colleagues in the American Association of Anatomists to develop and publish standards for teaching embryology and clinical human anatomy.
