Goals of the Program

  • Assess existing peer health promoter models to determine the most effective design for a health promoter model for diabetes education, prevention, and self-management for local Hispanics
  • Design a culturally appropriate peer health promoter model of diabetes education, prevention, and self-management
  • Design a curriculum and training program for Hispanic diabetes peer health promoters
  • Pilot peer health promoter model
  • Prepare implementation plan
