Research Interests

Dr. Strangeway received an MS degree in 1986 and a PhD in 1996, both at Marquette University. After three years at TRW, he began teaching at the Milwaukee School of Engineering in 1982 and is presently a Professor in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department. He has been employed at the Medical College of Wisconsin on a part-time basis since 1983.

Areas of interest include:

  • Millimeter-wave EPR bridge design and development
  • Microwave measurements and systems design
  • Phase noise, low phase noise oscillators, and EPR bridge noise performance
  • Undergraduate instruction in circuits, systems, electromagnetic fields, and microwaves

Experience specific to EPR:

  • Low phase noise V-, Q-, and X-band Gunn diode oscillator design
  • Q-band bridge oscillator, LNA, and detection upgrade
  • Traditional and multi-arm EPR bridge design and noise performance evaluation, X-band through D-band
