Citation Managers | MCW Libraries Featured Resource
March 2, 2018 - Citation managers help you to keep track of articles, books and other resources as you find them, and to organize, save and cite your references with ease. Although MCW will no longer have access to RefWorks after August 2018, there are many high-quality options available to you.
Learn about our favorites!
There are two options to using EndNote. EndNote Web is a free, online service that allows you to store, share and organization citations from any computer. EndNote desktop is downloaded to your computer and offers more features that EndNote web. EndNote desktop requires a subscription license, and many departments on campus cover the cost of the license.
Zotero is a free, open source citation manager. Zotero can be installed on multiple computers and syncing your account ensures that you have access to your most updated Zotero libraries no matter which computer you are using.
Mendeley is a free citation manager that is owned by Elsevier. Mendeley can be installed on your computer, or you can use it via the web; syncing your account ensures that you can access your research from other computers or devices.
We can provide limited training and support for EndNote, Zotero, and Mendeley. View our citation manager guide to learn more about product features, downloading the software, and transitioning form one citation manager to another.
