Journal Citation Reports Now Available
June 26, 2018 - Journal Citation Reports (JCR) is a resource that allows you to evaluate and compare journals using citation data drawn from approximately 12,000 scholarly and technical journals from nearly 3,300 publishers in over 60 countries/territories. It includes virtually all areas of the sciences. Journal Citation Reports can show you the:
- Most frequently cited journals in a field
- Highest impact journals in a field
- Largest journals in a field
Citation and article counts are indicators of how frequently current researchers are using individual journals. The 2017 citation data is now available.
Several medical journals have been suppressed from the 2017 edition due to anomalous citation patterns detected. The possibility of manipulation of citation metrics results in a distortion of the Journal Impact Factor and gives rise to the need for suppression.
