Orientation began for both campuses on July 5. On July 13, MCW-Green Bay formally matriculated its third class, which this year has 25 students (23 of whom are from Wisconsin). These new students participated in a White Coat Ceremony at St. Norbert College, followed by a welcome barbecue at Heritage Hill State Park in Green Bay.
On July 14, MCW-Central Wisconsin formally matriculated its second class, which this year also has 25 students (21 of whom are from Wisconsin). These new students participated in a White Coat Ceremony at UW-Center for Civic Engagement, followed by a welcome picnic at Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau.
At the White Coat Ceremonies, each student received the traditional short white lab coat worn by medical-students-in-training, and was “coated” by an individual with an interest or belief in the respective student’s ability and dedication to the practice of medicine.
Orientation for MCW-Milwaukee’s Class of 2021 will begin on August 7 and the White Coat Ceremony will be held August 11.
