Reserve your spot! Women in Science presentation on Sept. 20 to feature Denise Uyar, MD
Sept. 8, 2017 MCW News - The 11th annual Women in Science Series continues on Sept. 20 with Denise Uyar, MD, MCW associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology, who will give a presentation titled, The Potential Impact of the human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccination. The event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Dr. Uyar will speak about the HPV vaccination and the barriers and research to HPV vaccination in our community. Dr. Uyar was also recognized and named as one of the Best Doctors in America for 2015-2016.
The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) invites the public to become members of Women in Science, which is an opportunity to meet outstanding female scientists and physicians and learn about their cutting-edge research and new treatments for disease.
Series memberships start at $275, which supports two annual awards for promising faculty and postdoctoral fellow researchers. Admission, food and free parking are included at all of the events in the series. Members are allowed to invite a guest for free to one event. There also is the opportunity to attend one lecture for $55 or sponsor the attendance of a medical and Graduate School student at one lecture for $25. Series subscriptions can be paid for through a payroll deduction as well as through check or online with a credit card.
