Clinical Training

The MCW Palliative Care Program offers numerous training opportunities for health care professionals including month-long rotations for medical students, residents, and fellows, and physician and nurse visiting preceptorships.

Elective Experiences

A one-month elective in Palliative Care is available for medical students, residents, and fellows from diverse specialties. Rotators spend time with the inpatient palliative care consultation service and participate in the care of the full spectrum of our patients. Rotators also work through a formal, palliative care self-study course and have the opportunity for formal communication skills training. Outpatient palliative care and hospice experiences can be arranged for those who are interested.

Schwartz Center Rounds

The Schwartz Center Rounds are a multidisciplinary forum where clinical caregivers can discuss confidential difficult emotional and social issues that arise in caring for patients. Offering a safe, open and relaxed place where you can share your concerns, experiences, thoughts, and feelings.

For additional information contact Christina Olson at (414) 805-2824 or colson1@froedterthealth.org.
