Research Interest

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the world. Cancer chemoprevention is an effective approach to reduce the risk of developing cancer. My goal is to find new effective agents and elucidate their mechanisms of action. One of my projects focuses on the state-of-the-art aerosolized technology for lung cancer chemoprevention. Aerosols can increase regional drug delivery to the lungs with lower doses and fewer systemic side effects, avoiding first-pass metabolism of the drug in the liver. Our work demonstrated that aerosol delivery can decrease the toxicity in several novel chemotherapy drugs which showed systematically toxicity. My recent work is using this technology in the prevention study of aerosolized miRNA in lung cancer.
