Mental health assistance is for MCW employees, medical students, and residents. We recognize that our employees face several stressors while working hard, raising a family, shuffling schedules, making difficult decisions, etc. Because we are aware of these demands and because we value our employees, we have devised a program to serve you and your families, should the need arise.

Mental Health Services provides a comprehensive program designed to meet the professional and personal needs of you and your family. We offer counseling and therapy for personal issues. These issues may include but are not limited to:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Substance abuse
  • Marital concerns
  • Sexual dysfunction, as well as
  • Child, adolescent, and family problems.

If you are calling after hours or on the weekend, please leave a message. We will return your call the next working day.

In case of an after-hours emergency, please call (414) 805-6700 and ask for the Department of Psychiatry clinician on call. This clinician will be contacted by the paging operator and will get back to you as soon as possible.

What are the Benefits?
The first ten sessions, per academic year, are free. After the tenth session, it is your responsibility to contact your insurance company for benefits or to discuss payment arrangements with your therapist.

What are the Benefits?
Inpatient and outpatient mental health services. Co-pays, deductibles and coinsurance are paid in accordance with the patient's health insurance plan. Some referral providers offer an enhanced benefit in that the first three sessions will not be billed to the resident's insurance or resident's family. This benefit also applies to spouses and children.
